Urbanization as a growth driver in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is one of the least urbanized countries in the world. The major reason for this low urbanization has been tedious population growth in Sri Lanka. But, due to the upcoming development projects and the arrival of novel trends in the field of infrastructure, the winds of urbanization can be felt today. In consequence of this social phenomenon, Colombo is now gaining ground as a regional city speaking to the appetite of foreign investors. Thus, increasing urbanization is expected to contribute to the economic drive in Sri Lanka.
